There was no way to convince Neklamoor to teleport him home tonight, so Liam accepted that he’d have to wait until morning. It wasn’t all bad though. Dinner was served, and he was starved, which saw him devouring his plate of unseasoned potatoes and meat. He didn’t care. He just wanted his stomach filled.

Liam was given a room for the night as well. The bed was a bit flat, but the sheets were clean, and it didn’t look like he’d have to share the room. As he laid down, he pulled his attrex off of his neck and checked it. His last quest was complete, obviously, or he wouldn’t be alive right now to consider his point spending.

Seven points was a lot to spend. Even his long battle with Valko only rewarded him with five, and that required a lot of minion-killing. Receiving five points just for surviving Karl’s assault felt wrong, like he only completed the quest because Rak was the closest one to the door. Like Neklamoor said though, the past couldn’t be changed. All he could do now was use the points to avenge the hudrek.

Why was there a hudrek in the group though? I don’t think he was a breacher. Just a sympathizer?

Liam went back to the points, hoping that the guilt would subside before he tried to go to sleep. Alakai’s wishes came to mind, but he couldn’t see himself spending seven points in ‘persona’. He was in the middle of a war now, which meant that it was time to throw persona out the window, unless he could somehow convince Gilmore’s followers to take themselves down.

What else would he do with the points though? Put them all into athletics? Mind? The latter made sense, especially if the battles would all involve spells. Rak was a wall of muscle, but all the bulk in the world didn’t save him from Karl’s fire orb.

That weird ass fire orb I’ve never seen before.

Rak made three people who died at Karl’s hands, at least as far as Liam knew. The hudrek was probably tough as nails, but he screamed like anyone else would once those horrible flames engulfed his skin. It was enough to make him want to put all of his points into toughness.

Liam was so lost in thought that he didn’t feel the change in air pressure coming from the door. He noticed when the visitor passed by the light though, leaving his attrex in darkness while making his heart jump into his throat. Summoning the chanrod was a reflex he couldn’t help, but guilt swelled in his chest when he realized he almost drew a weapon on Shyora.

“I’d accuse you of being jumpy,” she sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed, “but I think everyone from the farm is right now.”

“Yeah, probably,” he huffed and scooted over to make more room for her. The bed was only meant for one person, which forced him to either press against the wall, or lay on his side.
